Fig fever...happily it's that time of year!

A posting on Facebook from friends Jyl Benson and Nina Camacho that they'd scored eight gallons in Breaux Bridge got me totally excited. Jyl kindly shared four pounds which I used to make about 10 pint jars of preserves in three batches.
The first batch was Drunken Figs spiked with brandy, the second with whiskey and the third with Xante pear cognac from France. After sharing a few pints with friends and coworkers, I reserved the rest for my husband.
Last night, I made homemade biscuits using this super easy recipes and we had breakfast for dinner.
